To understand and apply the main concepts and tools of health economics.
The course is structured around a case study, to learn the role and use of economic tools for decision-making in healthcare by following three steps:
- Application of key concepts in economics of healthcare and the acquisition of economic skills to analyse how health markets work and how could deficiencies be corrected.
- Critical assessment of health interventions in terms of profitability.
- Assessment of the significance and limitations of economic analysis and tools in decision-making for healthcare.
