RECOMMENDED APPLICANT PROFILES AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduates in medicine.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- To learn the neurophysiological and neuroanatomical principles of acupuncture and its clinical setting in the integrated hospital model.
- To describe the characteristics of acupuncture points and the peripheral nerves.
- To learn the relationships between acupuncture points and the peripheral nervous system.
- To review relevant scientific publications applied to oncological treatments.
- To apply treatments to the neural circuits for pain and their effect on neurotransmitters.
- To resolve clinical cases based on deductions made with basic knowledge of acupuncture.

  • Observations:
    Ten online seminars: Saturday mornings, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m (30 October, 13 and 27 November, 18 December 2021; 15 and 29 January, 12 and 26 February, 12 and 26 March 2022).

    Practical sessions will be carried out face-to-face with each patient group: internal medicine, oncology.

    Patient groups will be coordinated as far as possible for students who live outside Barcelona.

    Sessions will follow a case-study methodology and tutorials will be offered for individual support.

    All sessions will be recorded and students will have access to the full bibliography via the UB intranet.
