The course is aimed at holders of bachelor's degrees and engineering degrees in life sciences, earth sciences and related disciplines (biology, environmental sciences, agronomy, geology, mine engineering, forest engineering, geography, landscape architecture) who wish to broaden or improve their knowledge on this area. The course is also designed for teachers who want to incorporate the knowledge into their education area, and all people who are interested in finding out about alternatives and the results of restoring mining areas.

- Acquire basic knowledge of the exploitation of mineral resources and their distribution in Catalonia.
- Observe in-situ the possibilities of restoring quarries and mining areas.
- Observe and analyse the treatments that are used.
- Learn to assess and compare the results of restoration on a large scale, within each landscape design context.
