Kind of personal data we process and purposes |
We may collect various categories of personal data relating to you, including:
- Identifying data, such as name and surname(s), ID number, postal and email address.
- Data on personal characteristics, such as age, sex, place of birth.

Academic and professional data, such as education and qualifications, academic record, professional experience.
- Economic or financial and insurance data, such as bank details, credit cards, subsidies.
The personal data collected from you are used to manage your enrolment and the corresponding academic-administrative management to the Master in Global Challenges for Sustainability (MGCS) – 120 ECTS.

The processing of your personal data in relation to the above purposes is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest laid down by:

Data storage period |
In the case of the UB: the information of the academic record will be kept permanently according to the Law 10/2001, of 13 July, on archives and documents.
In the case of TCD, UU, UM, AAU and JMU: your information will be kept for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to determine the possible responsibilities that could be derived. The retention periods differ with regards to the type of processing activity and the purpose for which the personal data were collected.
In the case of the ELTE: Eighty years from the notification of the termination of student status (I/B of annex 3 to Act CCIV of 2011 On National Higher Education) (except distance learning).
In the case of JMU, additionally, financial data must be stored for 10 years in accordance with the current legal provisions.
In the case of HRW: Your information will be kept for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected on the basis of statutes of Hochschule Ruhr West (HRW) and the higher education act of North Rhine-Westphalia.
In the case of UiB: Your information will be kept for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected on the basis of the Act relating to Universities and University Colleges and the Norwegian Archives Act. |
| Data security and confidentiality |
We have taken technical and organisational security measures to prevent the destruction, loss, falsification, alteration, unauthorized access or disclosure of your personal data to third parties and any other unauthorised processing of these data.
We have made every effort to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information systems and services that process personal data. These measures include physical and operational security measures, access control, awareness raising and confidentiality clauses. All our employees and third parties engaged by us are obliged to respect the privacy and security of your data. |
Recipients |
The recipients of your personal data are the above-mentioned Universities and those in charge of processing your data on behalf of the University, if applicable. Your data will not be transferred to third parties (outside the EU) unless there is a legal obligation to do so. |
Data processor |
At UB, TCD,UU,ELTE UM, JMU and UiB, other e-learning systems (moodle, blackboard, Microsoft Teams, among others). Data will be kept in the EU.
At ELTE: Electronic Registration System’s (NEPTUN) operator, and CooSpace.
At AAU the student registration system Peppi and e-learning systems such as Moodle, Microsoft Teams, Zoom among others. If there is a need to transfer data outside of the EU appropriate legal safeguards are used.
At HRW: Electronic system for registration and data management (CampusNet), for the purpose of e-learning (moodle).

Rights |
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
- - The right of access enabling you to request a copy of the personal data we hold on you.
- - The right of rectification entailing that you are able to request to correct your personal data in case it’s inaccurate.
- - The right to be forgotten entailing that you can request us to erase your personal data.
- - The right to restrict processing entailing that you can request us to limit the processing of your personal data.
- - The right to data portability enabling you to request to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- The right to object to use your data if you have a valid reason and if we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest.
