The Making of Blackness Seminar – New Books in Early Modern Black Diaspora Studies, organized and convened by Rubén Bracero Salvat, Erica Feild-Marchello, Jehbreal Muhammad Jackson, and Andrea Rueda Herrera, is an online event conceived to host a conversation with three scholars specialized in Early Modern Black Diaspora Studies, Diana Berruezo-Sánchez, Chloe L. Ireton, and Nicholas R. Jones.

During the session, these three scholars will present their new monographs, which represent relevant contributions to our research field:

- Chloe L. Ireton, Slavery and Freedom in Black Thought in the Early Spanish Atlantic (Cambridge UP, November 2024)

- Nicholas R. Jones, Cervantine Blackness (Penn State UP, November 2024).

Presentations will be followed by a group discussion and Q&A among the presenters, the members of The Making of Blackness project and external attendees.

Attendance requires access links, but is open to new participants who can request information and links from the organizers by writing to makingofblackness@gmail.com.
