Víctimes i agressores. Primeres aproximacions
Friday October 9, 2015
The issue of violence against women, but also of women's violence, is gaining importance within the legal and philosophical spheres. The symposium "Víctimes i agressores. Primeres aproximacions", coordinated by Elena Losada, from the Centre Dona i Literatura, aims at establishing a first critical approach to the analysis of how these forms of violence are portrayed and to the application of concepts belonging to the fields of critical criminology, feminist criminology or victimology to the crime fiction written by women. During the symposium some recent publications will also be presented: the volume Tras la pista (Icaria, 2015) and the monographic issue of Lectora, 21 (2015) entitled Noir and Female: Women Writers of Crime Novels in the Iberian Peninsula. The participants will be the writer and district attorney Sonia Martín, Cristina Alsina (Centre Dona i Literatura), Lourdes Otaegi (Universidad del país Vasco/ Euskal Herriko Unibersitatea), Francesco Ardolino, María Xesús Lama, Anna Maria Villalonga (Universitat de Barcelona) and Álex Martín (Universidad de Salamanca). The symposium will be inaugurated by Montserrat Gatell, president of the Institut Català de les Dones, Helena González Fernández, director of the Centre Dona i Literatura, and Elena Losada. The symposium is part of the activities organized by the research project "Víctimas y agresoras. Representaciones de la violencia en la narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres", which draws on the previous MUNCE project. Attendance is free.
