The "long 19th century", in the definition of Eric Hobsbawm, allows to follow major changes that affect the consideration of gender, the bodies and texts subjected to violence, as well as the networks and objects generated by these dissidents, often defenders of vindication. The objective of the Workshop "Violència, activisme de gènere i dissidències sexuals en el llarg segle XIX", coordinated by Ánxela Lema (Universidade da Coruña and ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) and Helena González (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) is to bring together specialists in gender or sexuality to confront their advances on dissident or unforeseen figures such as the demi-mondaine Carolina Otero; the instrumentalist and philanthropist Clotilde Cerdà; the "Princesa de Borbón", a Galician transvestite in Argentina; Colette Willy and other writers of the long 19th century. Elena Losada and María Xesús Lama (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona), À. Lorena Fuster (Seminari Filosofia i Gènere-ADHUC, Universitat de Barcelona), Isabel Clúa (ADHUC-Universidad de Sevilla), Daniela Ferrández (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela y Universidade de Coimbra), and Flavie Fouchard (Universidad de Sevilla) will participate in the event. Activity in Spanish and Catalan. Open attendance.
