The current heyday of the criminal novel has turned this literary genre into a vehicle of denunciation and visibilization of violence. The seminar "Violencias Expandidas", coordinated by Elena Losada, of the Centre de recerca ADHUC-Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat proposes a reflection on the current role of the criminal novel in the Latin American panorama. This seminar, which will take place at the Universitat de Barcelona, will host Gustavo Forero (Universidad de Antioquia) with an intervention entitled "La democratización de la violencia en la novela de crímenes latinoamericana". He will reflect on how this literature serves as a form of expression for a society in which violence is so internalized that every subject exercises it. The event will close with a debate, moderated by Esmeralda G. Morales. This seminar is part of the research project "Víctimas y agresoras. Representaciones de la violencia en la narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres" (VANACEM). Open assistance.
