Álex ALONSO NOGUEIRA, professor in Brooklyn College-CUNY and María Zambrano Fellow at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (2022-2024), specializes in late 19th-century intellectual history, historiography, and literary Modernism. His most recent publication is a critical edition of Emilia Pardo Bazán's La sirena negra, that he prepared with Susana Bardavío and is currently preparing a new edition of the Galician novel O silencio redimido, by Silvio Santiago and, with Susana Bardavío, a annotated edition of Emilia Pardo Bazán's El cisne de Vilamorta. His current research deals with Galician literary history, and literary nationalism in Iberian literatures. He is also working on a history of Spanish Literary Theory at the end of Nineteenth Century.
