The Seminari Filosofia i Gènere and ADHUC–Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat will hold the 22nd Thesis Laboratory on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. In this new session, the PhD student Helga Jorba will present her ongoing research for her doctoral dissertation, Idolatria i política: una lectura de l’obra de Maimònides des de la teoria política. Jorba's analysis aim to show the political importance of Maimonides' work. Thus, for example, from his philosophical fundamentation of the revealed law it emerges a reflexion about human condition, the law and its importance in the constitution of all political community. Also, in his analysis on prophecy we find a conception of knowledge that can set the basis of a science of government. Furthermore, the discussion about idolatry reveals the relations between this concept and the problem of knowledge and the law as the basis of the political community. Activity linked to the project La transmisión desde el pensamiento filosófico femenino (FFI2015-63828-P, MINECO/FEDER, UE).
