itemprop=\"text\" ><p dir=\"ltr\">I graduated in Food Science and Technology in Universitat de Barcelona (UB) in 2022. During my last year of the degree and later on for my undergraduate\u2019s thesis, I enrolled on a project that focused on the in-silico study of Choline Trimethylamine-Lyase (CutC), a protein that links microbiota with cardiovascular diseases, in the Computational <span class=\"il\">Biology<\/span> Chemistry &amp; Gastronomy (CBCG) group under the supervision of Prof. Carolina Estarellas. Throughout that year, I learned and conducted molecular dynamics studies of our target protein, which gave me an introduction to drug discovery and impressed upon me its importance and impact . After the degree, I finished an MsC in Biomedicine in the UB in order to deepen my knowledge in biological systems and drug discovery whilst also improving the programming skills I acquired during Computer Engineering in the Universitat Polit\u00e9cnica de Catalunya. For my Master\u2019s thesis, I continued on the CutC project under Prof. Carolina Estarellas, in which I performed additional Molecular Dynamics simulations and Homology Modelling.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Currently, I&#8217;m a second year PhD student in the Biotechnology program in the UB. My research currently focuses on understanding and elucidating the molecular mechanisms involved in the activity of different proteins linked to non-communicable diseases, such as CutC and Amyloid \u00df, by means of Molecular Dynamics simulations and Enhanced Sampling techniques.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Apart from researching, a few of my passions include food science, languages, biochem, and digital arts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper.
