And after a break of several years... here it comes again...
The conferences of the Iberian branch of the International Permafrost Association (IPA) have been held for two decades and bring together all those who study issues related to permafrost and periglacial processes in cold environments, including also the study of snow, glaciers and other elements of the cryosphere. It is an international forum that promotes collaborative strategies between Portuguese and Spanish research groups studying processes in cold regions.
The VIII Iberian IPA congress will take place from June 26 to 28, 2025, at in Salardú, Val d'Aran. Oral communications and posters will be presented showing the most recent results of research carried out by Iberian researchers across our three poles (Antarctic, Arctic and high mountain areas). There will be presentations by foreign researchers, experts in different topics of permafrost science, and a field trip to visit the fantastic landscapes of the Val d'Aran.
The conference is organized by the ANTALP (Antarctic, Arctic and Alpine Environments) Research Group of the Department of Geography of the University of Barcelona, with the collaboration of the Conselh Generau d'Aran. It is part of the dissemination activities of the PERMAPYRENEES project (INTERREG-POCTEFA) and is organized under the auspices of IPA Spain and Portugal.
