17 May 2019. The Artsoundscapes Project participated in the “Festa de la Ciència” [Science Fair] of the University of Barcelona (UB). The event is organized yearly within the programme “La UB divulga”, led by the Unitat de Cultura Científica i Innovació at the UB. The Artsoundscapes project was represented by team members Laura Coltofean, Ana María Alarcón-Jiménez and Mathieu Picas, who organized the workshop “Viaje sonoro a la prehistoria” [Sonorous voyage to prehistory]. They talked about rock art, sound and musical instruments in prehistory with children, teenagers and adults. At the end of the workshop, they taught the participants to build two prehistoric percussion and wind instruments: “chascas de nuez” (a nutshell musical instrument) and bullroarers.

13 Jan 2019; 20 Jan 2019; 27 Jan 2019. One hour presentation of the seashell trumpet discovered at the Chalcolithic site of Los Millares, Spain, within the the “Pieza del Museo” series. This is taking place all Sundays of January 2019 at the Museo Arqueológico Nacional.
8-11 Nov 2018. Artsoundscapes collaborated at Ar&Pa (Bienal Ibérica de Restauración y Patrimonio) with a stand shared with the already finished European Music Archaeology Project. Artsoundscapes researcher Raquel Jiménez Pasalodos organized a series of dissemination activities helding workshops and reading stories to children aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sound and music in past and present cultures.
