He has worked for the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana) at the Territorial Service for Culture and Sports of Alicante. During his doctoral years, he worked as an archaeologist in the Arq&#038;Volta and Alebus companies, and as an intern at the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ).<br \/>\nHis research has centred on the post-Paleolithic Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula, inscribed as World Heritage in 1998, with a focus on the province of Valencia. His <a href=\"https:\/\/dialnet.unirioja.es\/servlet\/tesis?codigo=229870\">doctoral thesis<\/a> dealt with the Abrigo de Voro and he has profusely<a href=\"https:\/\/independent.academia.edu\/XimoMartorell?from_navbar=true\"> published <\/a>on other sites in the area. <\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\u00bb1_2&#8243; _builder_version=\u00bb3.25&#8243; custom_padding=\u00bb|||\u00bb custom_padding__hover=\u00bb|||\u00bb][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.9.3&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p>His researched has also included issues related to  cultural heritage management and museums, and has led several projects of conservation, research and management of rock art sites. He holds a PhD in Archaeology by Durham University, United Kingdom (2011). He has a Master\u2019s of Anthropology by the UNAM\/FFyL-IIA (2004) and a BA degree by ENAH (the Mexican National School of Anthropology and History) (2001). His main area of research is the archaeology of The\u00a0Sonoran\u00a0Desert about which he has written many articles and books. He is currently developing a project on climate change and cultural dynamics in the coast of The\u00a0Sonoran\u00a0Desert (Gulf of California), on the basis of data obtained in fieldwork. In addition to the study of material culture, he is interested in contemporary interpretive theories, such as materiality,\u00a0multivocality,\u00a0and archaeoacoustics. He is also interested in the context of archaeology with topics such as tourism, nationalism and the use of rock art in the construction of identities.\u00a0Since\u00a02012, he has\u00a0been\u00a0a researcher at\u00a0the\u00a0Instituto de Investigaciones Antropol\u00f3gicas at the Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico (UNAM).\u00a0He was responsible for designing\u00a0the first ever BA Program in Anthropology at the UNAM and he currently serves as Program Coordinator at the\u00a0Facultad\u00a0de\u00a0Ciencias\u00a0Pol\u00edticas\u00a0y\u00a0Sociales.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> climate change; cultural dynamics; multivocality; Sonoran Desert; rock art.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Relevant publications<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Villalobos Acosta, C.
