The Museum of Molins de Rei celebrated de Night of the Museums 2025 with a very special activity called: \u201cResson\u00e0ncies del passat: viatge a la prehist\u00f2ria a trav\u00e9s dels sons\u201d. During the event, Miquel L\u00f3pez Garcia introduced our Artsoundscapes project and invited visitors to travel back in time by listening to the sounds of prehistory \u2014 including the deep, powerful tones of prehistoric conch shell trumpets.<\/p>\n

The Museu Municipal de Molins de Rei was the perfect place for this activity, as it houses a remarkable conch shell trumpet from the Cova de l\u2019Or archaeological site. Thanks to the museum\u2019s collaboration, we had the unique opportunity to study this incredible object and share its sound with the public for the very first time.<\/p>\n

Museu Municipal a Ca n\u2019Ametller (Molins de Rei) https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f7ia5gQXqTU&feature=emb_logo<\/p>\r\n The traditional Science Fair [Festa de la Ci\u00e8ncia] of the University of Barcelona was virtual this year, as many other events during the lockdown imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers from different faculties were asked to produce short films about the workshops they would have given under normal circumstances, and their videos were then uploaded to YouTube. The Artsoundscapes project took the challenge and team members Ana Mar\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n-Jim\u00e9nez, Mathieu Picas and Laura Coltofean created the video below in which they propose a voyage to prehistory [Viaje sonoro a la prehistoria] through the means of sound by showing viewers how to make a \u201cchasca de nuez\u201d, a nutshell prehistoric percussion instrument.
