Researchers from around the world will gather from <strong>September 18 to 20<\/strong> to share new findings and advance this interdisciplinary collaboration. The local organizing committee include Brainlab member <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ub.edu\/brainlab\/researcher\/marc-via\/\">Marc Via<\/a><\/strong>, together with Ernest Mas-Herrero and Josep Marco-Pallar\u00e9s, also at the Institute of Neurosciences (UB).<\/p>\n<p>The event will be preceded by a public roundtable on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palaumusica.cat\/en\/the-musical-genome-roundtable_1492462?_gl=1*127e0lc*_up*MQ..*_ga*NDI0MTM1NDMyLjE3NTc0MDk0ODk.*_ga_Z4CD70ZJNJ*czE3NTc0MDk0ODkkbzEkZzAkdDE3NTc0MDk0ODkkajYwJGwwJGgw*_ga_5KHV5X2C65*czE3NTc0MDk0ODkkbzEkZzAkdDE3NTc0MDk0ODkkajYwJGwwJGgw\"><strong>September 17 at the Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana, titled &#8220;The Musical Genome&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> which will bring together scientists and musicians to discuss the biological foundations of musicality and how music is experienced across individuals. <strong>The event is free, but registration is required. <\/strong>This is a unique opportunity to witness a dialogue between science and music in one of Europe\u2019s most beautiful concert halls.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the event, the project was featured on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3cat.cat\/3cat\/la-majoria-de-la-poblacio-gaudim-de-la-musica-pero-amb-intensitats-diferents\/audio\/1253845\/\"><strong><em>Assaig General<\/em><\/strong><strong> (Catalunya M\u00fasica)<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> where Gemma Marfany, Cristina Cubells and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ub.edu\/brainlab\/researcher\/marc-via\/\"><strong>Marc Via<\/strong><\/a> explained that while most people enjoy music, we do so with varying intensity \u2014 differences that may, in part, be influenced by our genetic makeup.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you are a lover of music, science, or both, don&#8217;t hesitate to <strong>participate in the round table discussion at the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palaumusica.cat\/es\"><strong>Palau de la M\u00fasica<\/strong><\/a><strong> or listen to the interview on <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.3cat.cat\/catradio\/catalunya-musica\/\"><strong>Catalunya M\u00fasica<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> You are sure to learn things that will surprise you!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\ud83d\uddd3 September 17, 18:00 \ud83d\udccd Palau de la m\u00fasica catalana Next week, Barcelona will host the international meeting of the Musicality Genomics Consortium (MusicGens), a groundbreaking project that explores the relationship between genetics and musical perception.
