Anticipating Multisensory Environments: Evidence for a Supra-modal Predictive System
Our perceptual experience typically unfolds in multisensory environments rich in predictive information. While previous research has demonstrated that humans can learn sensory regularities in parallel, it remains unclear whether multisensory predictions rely on modality-specific or supra-modal systems. In this talk, Marc will present findings from two experiments that tested these hypotheses using auditory and visual stimuli. Results suggest that a supra-modal system with shared resources across sensory modalities drives predictions, modulated by the relevance of the stimuli.
Marc will also present his current research, and we encourage everyone to provide valuable feedback to help further refine and advance his work. We hope you can join us for this interesting discussion!
