The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona hosted on 3 March at 14:30 the lecture “Digitalisation and European Competitiveness: Key Challenges Ahead”, delivered by Erik Slottner, Minister for Public Administration of the Government of Sweden.

Mr Slottner and his team were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation Policy of the University of Barcelona, Raul Ramos, and the Dean of the Faculty, Laura Guitart, among others. The Minister later met with Swedish students currently studying at the Faculty.

In his address, organised by the Department of Business and the Faculty Dean’s Office, Mr Slottner analysed the main future challenges posed by digitalisation and European competitiveness. As Minister — a position he has held since 2022 — his role is “to promote sound and effective cooperation between municipalities, regions and the central government, as well as to ensure the effective digitalisation of public administration in order to improve services to citizens and increase the efficiency of government bodies.”
