The University of Barcelona suspends all face-to-face academic activities and closes buildings due to the COVID-19 health alert

As of March 15th, 2020, all buildings and facilities of the University of Barcelona are closed and access is forbidden except for authorised people, due to the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) health alert. New research challenges the conventional wisdom that Anglo-Saxon CEOs outperform their counterparts from other regions

The CEO’s country of origin is an important driver that explains different types of firm performance, according to a recent study co-authored by Josep García Blandón (Universitat Ramon Llull), the UB Business School researcher Josep Maria Argilés Bosch and Diego Ravenda (Toulouse Business School). A new study finds three combinations of management system certifications that leverage firm performance

Many companies see management system certifications as a tool to add credibility to the organisation, as they guarantee that a product or service meets the expectations of the customers. However, managing multiple certifications can worsen the firm’s performance due to a possible conflict of interests. Multinational companies are the largest employers of MSc in International Business graduates from the UB Business School. The first cohort of the programme –launched in the academic year 2018/19– have recently entered the labour market. The applications are now open for 2020/21 entry to the graduate programme in Business at the UB Business School. The graduate programme comprises a one-year MSc in Business Research and the PhD in Business.
