pexels-photo-48604The Summer School “Big Data for Healthy Living”, jointly organised by the University of Barcelona, the Université Grenoble Alpes and the European Scientific Institute, will provide an overview of the main sources of data and efforts to develop new tools on large-scale data processing application.  It will be held at the European Scientific Institute, in Archamps, France from July 3rd to 12th, 2017. Claudio Cruz Cazares, researcher at the Universitat de Barcelona Business School and director of the Master’s degree in Creation and Management of Innovative Technology-Based Companies, is the coordinator from the University of Barcelona and the principal investigator.

Topics will include technology, business, value chain, and security aspects of future Health Clouds. Everyday sessions will mix a comprehensive range of practical tools and real life experiences, which will introduce participants to creative thinking, applied design thinking and pitching. The last day, they will have the unique opportunity to promote their innovative projects in front of a business panel. This School will include presentations by researchers on Big Data, as well as presentations by company experts on business models.

The Summer School “Big Data for Healthy Living” will welcome up to 30 MSc,  PhD or postdoctoral fellows, with a medical, scientific, or technological background, and an innovation-entrepreneurial mind-set. At the end of the school, participants will be familiarised with the notions of team-working, management of complex processes, conceptual approaches, entrepreneurship and intercultural awareness.
