One of our aims in organizing the summer school is to examine the latest topics and challenges in the discipline of marketing, which is seeing intense change with the widespread adoption of new technologies.

The International Summer School in Marketing & Business Models will be offered as an intensive one-week programme during the month of July at the University of Barcelona, one of Europe’s leading universities.

This intensive programme has the aim to achive the following objectives:

To examine

the latest topics and challenges in the discipline of marketing, which is undergoing extensive changes with the widespread adoption of new technologies.

To provide

aspiring marketing executives with a general understanding of the transformational trends and experiences that are shaping current business structures.

To support

participants with the tools and guidelines to build solutions that are compatible with the current technology scenario.

To analyse

the emergence of new business models, taking advantage of the various resources available in Barcelona, a city renowned for its creativity and ability to attract talent.

The Barcelona Marketing & Business Models programme is aimed at professionals, managers, lecturers, researchers and students interested in the latest topics in marketing and business models.

  • – Student applicants should possess a solid background in the area of business or related fields.
  • – Although no language certificate is required, all applicants are expected to have a high level of English.

The Barcelona Marketing & Business Models programme will address the following topics:

  • Exploring new marketing approaches and strategies
  • Rethinking Business Models
  • Experiences and marketing strategies
  • Innovation, marketing and digital Economy
  • Interdisciplinaries and other creative connections

The programme includes cultural activities such as a guided tour around Barcelona, a visit to the Chocolate Museum, the Roca Barcelona Gallery, and the Hospital de Sant Pau (World Heritage Site by UNESCO).

Scholarships

Master’s and doctoral degree students seeking financial aid may apply for one of the two scholarships available. Each scholarship covers the course tuition fees.

List of awarded candidates and waiting list

Payment

Participants offered a place in the Summer School will receive an e-mail with (i) the admission letter and (ii) the payment instructions. Payment of the tuition fees will guarantee your place on the course.

The deadline for registration including scholarship application is May 31st 2019 (Extended deadline: June, 9th 2019). Applications will be reviewed by the Summer School academic coordinator. Priority will be given to those working on a clearly related topic. The list of the applicants accepted on the course with scholarship will be published on June 15th 2019.

Policy on cancellation and reimbursement

All cancellations must be received in writing and sent in advance by email. Participants wishing to withdraw from the Summer School will have their tuition fees partially refunded according to the following policies: Prior to 15 days before the beginning of the course: full refund of the registration fee, less €100 of administrative costs.

Applications will be reviewed by the Summer School Academic Coordinator on a rolling basis throughout the entire application period. Applicants will be notified of the Coordinator’s decision by email.

Applicants for the Summer School programme at the UB Business School should ensure that they meet the requirements before applying to the course:

Credit recognition

The International Summer School’s course Barcelona Marketing & Business Models is accredited in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System and will be recognized by the University of Barcelona with the award of 3 ECTS credits.

ECTS – a common language for academic recognition: ECTS, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, was developed by the European Commission in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad. It provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements and transferring them from one institution to another. This is achieved through the use of common ECTS credit units and a common ECTS grading scale.
