Concerning protein design, he is interested in applying the principles underlying photosynthetic charge separation to artificial systems based on custom proteins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also seeks to employ protein design to guide the crystallization of pharmaceutically relevant compounds.
