5th Edition CRIC-Teatre Lliure–CBTBarcelona Awards

Tuesday 11 November 2025 | 18:00 | Espai Lliure de Montjuïc

The MA Programme in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities (CRIC), in collaboration with the Contemporary British Theatre Barcelona Research Group (CBTBarcelona) and Teatre Lliure, is hosting the presentation of the awards for the best BA and MA dissertations in contemporary theatre studies and performing arts.

The event will open with the plenary session “Ser y no ser”, presented by director and playwright Gabriel Calderón, recipient of Uruguay’s National Prize of Literature and Artistic and General Director of Comedia Nacional de Uruguay (2022-2025). Between reality and fiction, Calderón will explore the foundational myth of his artistic vocation through personal reflections on writing and theatre. He will analyse the tensions that give meaning and depth to artistic creation. The event will conclude with the launch of the book Sense voler: resistències corporals a la lògica del rendiment, by Mireia Serrano, winner of the fourth edition of the prize, and published by Edicions UB.
