Lejos de ser una noci\u00f3n neutra, la reconciliaci\u00f3n ha sido utilizada con fines diversos y, a menudo, contradictorios: como ideal \u00e9tico, estrategia pol\u00edtica o instrumento de legitimaci\u00f3n. Durante la Guerra Civil, Negr\u00edn y Aza\u00f1a ya apelaron a la reconciliaci\u00f3n como base de una futura convivencia democr\u00e1tica. No obstante, el franquismo tambi\u00e9n la instrumentaliz\u00f3 para justificar una integraci\u00f3n subordinada de los vencidos. En 1956, el PCE recuper\u00f3 y reformul\u00f3 la idea como \u00abreconciliaci\u00f3n nacional\u00bb, orient\u00e1ndola hacia la lucha unitaria contra la dictadura, lo que permiti\u00f3 articular alianzas sociales clave. La amnist\u00eda de 1977 marc\u00f3 un punto culminante, pero tambi\u00e9n ambiguo: si bien fue esencial para la transici\u00f3n democr\u00e1tica, diluy\u00f3 el car\u00e1cter antifranquista de la reconciliaci\u00f3n, permitiendo su apropiaci\u00f3n por sectores posfranquistas. En tiempos recientes, esta manipulaci\u00f3n se intensifica, especialmente desde iniciativas como la Ley de Concordia, que banalizan la memoria hist\u00f3rica y blanquean el franquismo.
