History of the Community

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1275,  when the Bishop of Vic agreed that a community of deodatas professed  under the Rule of St. Augustine.

Francisco Rafat (1990), through a documentary study has identified that the comunidad lived in the chapel of Sant Miquel i Santa Llúcia, and sooner it would be well known only by the invocation of Santa Llúcia.

The activity of the community was pretty intense, and we know, for example, that prioress Cicerona bought a bell for the monastery in 1278, along with father Alegre, a deodato of the monastery. Is also documented numerous will donations   in favor of the monastery and, also the foundation of the new community of Santa Caterina in Cervera, which was a priory subordinated to Santa Llúcia.

In 1304, the prioress of
Santa Llúcia, Bartomeua Cirera, and the other nuns, Blanca de Soler, Blanca de Cirera, Elisenda de Carreres, Sibilia de Rajadell, Elisenda Torelló, María Ricolfa, Blanca de Filol y Geralda Gilia, moved to Cervera never returned to Rajadell again.

Likewise the community of Santa Catalina de Cervera, Santa Llúcia was reformed by the Bishop of Vic in 1374, and finally disappeared during the fifteenth century.

Building architecture

In Santa Llúcia, the thirthteenth century church survives, with parts and elements of romanesque and gotic style.
