CBSUB composition

The composition of the CBS is regulated by article 3 of the agreement of the Governing Council that established it. Thus, the CBS is composed of:

  1. The vice-chancellor with competence in the area of research or the person he or she delegates, who chairs it.
  2. Three to five professors and/or researchers and/or experts in the field of recombinant DNA technology, the use of human pathogens, the use of animal pathogens or the use of plant pathogens.
  3. Up to two members of the PDI or PAS in representation of the Health and Safety Committee appointed by the latter.
  4. The OSSMA prevention technicians who carry out the tasks of the preventive speciality in the field of biosafety and who act at the same time as technical advisors to the Committee.
  5. One of the people in the sections 3) or 4) designated by the president, or other UB technical staff, who will act as secretary. In the event that the person does not belong to the sections 3) or 4), shall act with a voice but without a vote.
  6. Administrative management tasks are carried out by administrative support staff at the CEEA and other UB committees.
Meeting room

The members of the Committee indicated in section 2) are appointed by the vice-chancellor with competence in the area of Research, taking into account the specialisation in the established fields and the criteria of independence and impartiality.

The term of office of the members of the Committee is four years, renewable, without prejudice to any replacements that may be necessary.

  • Dr. Ana Sevilla, from the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology (Biology).
  • Dr. Juan Jose Rojas, from the Department of Experimental Pathology and Therapeutics (Medicine).
  • Dr. Josep M. Canals, from the Department of Biomedicine (Medicine).
  • Dr. Rubén Alcázar, from the Department of Biology, Health and the Environment (Pharmacy).
  • Ms. Begoña Castillejos, OSSMA technician specialising in industrial hygiene.
  • Ms. Judith Regidor, OSSMA technician specialising in industrial hygiene.
  • Representative of the Health and Safety Committee, pending appointment.
