The Medical Service Unit (OSSMA) in coordination with the health authorities starts the flu vaccination campaign on October 28, 2024. We advise that the first days of vaccination should be attended by people belonging to the following risk groups according to the criteria of the Department of Health:
- Caregivers of people with risk factors
- Pregnant women
- Patients with chronic problems and risk factors
- Teaching staff
- People with direct occupational exposure to domestic birds or pigs, in poultry or pig farms, and also to wild birds or other wildlife (wild boars, mustelids…)
- People with cerebrospinal fluid fistula and cochlear implant or waiting for this implant
- People with immunosuppression
- People with celiac disease
- People over 60 years old
- Smokers
- Health and social-health professionals

INFORMATIVE NOTE: the Covid vaccine will continue to be administered exclusively by the Institut Català de la Salut.
Contraindications to the influenza vaccine
- In case of moderate or severe acute illness at the time of vaccination, including SARS-CoV-2 infection. These persons can be vaccinated once they have overcome the clinical condition
- Having had a severe allergic reaction -for example, anaphylaxis- to any component -except the egg- of the influenza vaccine
- Having suffered Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) six weeks after receiving a dose of influenza vaccine
- It is important to note that immunosuppression, pregnancy and breastfeeding are NOT contraindications for the flu vaccine
