The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (INSST) has published the third edition (2024) of the Technical Guide for the Assessment and Prevention of Risks Related to Exposure to Biological Agents at Work. This new version, which updates the 2014 edition, introduces key improvements and adaptations in biosafety.
Among the main novelties is the revision and update of certain articles of Royal Decree 664/1997, particularly Article 4, concerning risk assessment, and Article 6, on measures for their reduction, as well as the content of its appendices.
The guide reaffirms itself as an essential tool for professionals in laboratories, hospitals and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, offering up-to-date criteria for the identification, assessment and prevention of biological risks at work.
