Call for the Best TFG and TFM in Contemporary Theatre Studies

Until Friday, April 30th, 2021

The MA programme CRIC, the "Contemporary British Theatre Barcelona" Research Group and Teatre Lliure promote the creation of awards for the best TFG and TFM in Contemporary Theatre Studies to encourage research in this field.

The call for the best Final Degree Project (TFG) in contemporary theatre studies is aimed at all UB students who have presented a TFG during the 2019-2020 academic year. The best work that deals with contemporary theatre (since the 1960s until today) and that has been qualified with a minimum grade of 9/10 will be recognized. A maximum of two second prizes may be awarded.

Also, in this first edition, the Award for the best Final Master’s Research Project (TFM) on contemporary theatre studies is aimed at students of the MA programme in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities who have presented their work during the 2019-2020 academic year and have obtained a minimum grade of 9/10. As an exception in this first call, works previously defended will be accepted, but in no case before January 2017. The candidate works must be focused on contemporary theatre studies, framed from the 1850s to the present. The best research will be recognized and the possibility of awarding a second prize is contemplated.

For both calls, the deadline for submissions is on Friday, April 30th, 2021. In the evaluation process, criteria such as relevance and originality in the development of the work, the theoretical and conceptual framework, the coherence and the methodological rigor, the results, the conclusions and the contribution that the research represents in this field will be taken into account, as well as the clarity and correctness in the written expression.

The organization of this first edition of the awards has had the support of Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació, Vicerrectorat de Recerca of the Universitat de Barcelona and Fundació Teatre Lliure.
