Dignity and Human Good (Workshop)

Faculty of Law, University of Barcelona
📅11 April 2025

This event was held in English.

This interdisciplinary workshop, hosted by the Faculta of Law at the University of Barcelona, brings together legal scholars, philosophers, and political theorists to examine the foundational concepts of human dignity and the human good. Through a series of presentations and discussions, the event aims to explore the normative dimensions of dignity—as a virtue, a value, or a legal principle—and its relationship to trust, well-being, equality, and autonomy.

The program features internationally renowned speakers, including Sean Coyle (University of Birmingham), Raquel Barradas (Trinity College Oxford), Grégoire Webber (Queen’s University Canada), and Pablo de Lora (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), alongside discussants and chairs from the University of Barcelona and other institutions. The workshop provides a platform for critical dialogue at the intersection of law, philosophy, and ethics, fostering reflection on the role of dignity in contemporary legal and political frameworks.

This event is organized and funded within the framework of the DIGNITY Project (PID2022-138248NB-I00), supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and co-funded by the European Union.
