COAUTHORS

Next table shows all my coauthors, to whom I thank for all.
For each coauthor x, I give his (his or her) coordinates (a,b). The first coordinate just shows the number of publications we have together. The second coordinate is defined as follows. If I have one paper with coauthor x and this paper is coauthored by n authors (without counting me) then his weight for this paper is 1/n. The number b for author x is just the sum of these numbers over all the papers we have worked together. For instance I have just one paper in total with María Jesús Álvarez and the paper has another coauthor (Antoni Ferragut) so b=1/2 in this case. By construction the sum over all b‘s should give the total number of my publications minus one (I have published one paper alone). Updated: 30 August, 2025.

(*) She passed away on 2 December 2012. She was a coauthor but more important a very close friend. I will be forever indebted to her for all she taught me about economics and life. I wrote a letter in memorial (Catalan and Spanish).
(**) He passed away on 3 December 2008. The first time I met Carlos I was a graduate student at UAB and he explained in the seminar one of his best results on the Jacobian Conjecture. During the years I met him from time to time but, amazingly, we did not meet while doing the unique paper we have in collaboration. In any event I remember one conversation with Jaume Llibre who told me that Carlos was one of the best mathematician he ever met (and clearly he has met many).
(***) He passed away on 16 November 2025. He was my “advisor” while I was a postdoc at Boston University.
