EDDU participates in the XVII SDDN Meeting 2025

The past November 20–21, 2025 EDDU-UB took part in the 17th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Drug Discovery Network (SDDN), where the unit was represented by Prof. Santiago Vázquez. The event, held at Hotel Attica 21, A Coruña, brought together researchers, technology platforms, and industry partners to discuss emerging trends in drug discovery.

The scientific programme centred on three key themes: Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Drug Discovery Stories, and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). The sessions highlighted advances in AI-driven molecule design, success cases in translational research, and innovative in vitro systems such as organoids and organ-on-chip models.

During the poster session, Prof. Vázquez presented a poster showcasing EDDU-UB’s services and capabilities in early drug discovery, emphasising the unit’s integrated technological support for hit identification, assay development, and compound profiling. His contribution helped raise awareness of EDDU-UB’s role as a strategic partner for both academic and industrial drug discovery initiatives.

The meeting also featured a satellite session on November 19 dedicated to the Galician biotech sector, offering additional networking opportunities.

EDDU-UB’s participation at the SDDN Meeting strengthens its visibility within the national drug discovery community and reinforces its commitment to collaborative, innovation-driven research.
