The visit showcased the Catalan model of technology transfer and its impact on innovation and collaboration between research and industry.<br><br>During the session at <strong>UB-EDDU<\/strong>, the team presented its work in<strong> preclinical drug development <\/strong>and its extensive experience in translating biomedical research into therapeutic innovation. Mr. Mart\u00edn learned about the unit\u2019s collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and its contribution to the creation of successful <strong>spin-offs<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the spin-offs presented during the visit were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oniriatherapeutics.com\/\">Oniria Therapeutics<\/a><\/strong>, focused on the development of innovative cancer therapies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palobiofarma.com\/\">PALO BIOFARMA<\/a><\/strong>, specialized in the discovery of small-molecule therapeutics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inke.es\/\">Inke<\/a><\/strong>, a biotechnology company advancing novel pharmaceutical technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the TECNIO model in turning academic research into market-oriented innovation and social impact.<br><br>Mr. Mart\u00edn emphasized \u201c<em>the outstanding scientific capacity of Catalonia<\/em>\u201d and <em>\u201cthe excellence of the TECNIO transfer model\u201d,<\/em> describing it as an inspiring framework that could be adapted in other regions.<br><br>Alongside UB-EDDU, the visit also included <strong>CITCEA-UPC <\/strong>and the <strong>Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)<\/strong>, highlighting the diversity and strength of the TECNIO network.
