{"id":151,"date":"2024-12-12T11:15:44","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T10:15:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eddu.finis-dev.com\/?p=151"},"modified":"2025-06-10T11:38:40","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T09:38:40","slug":"entrada-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ub.edu\/eddu\/entrada-3\/","title":{"rendered":"The program \u201cInd\u00fastria del coneixement\u201d recognizes the potential of bioactive compounds discovered by EDDU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EDDU<\/strong> has received two grants from the last call of the \u201c<strong>Ind\u00fastria del Coneixement<\/strong>\u201d program from the \u201c<strong>Departament de Recerca i Universitats de la Generalitat de Catalunya<\/strong>\u201d which follows the objective to facilitate the transfer of research results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first project, led by <strong>Prof. Carmen Escolano<\/strong>, has received a \u201cProducte\u201d grant of 132,000 euros (2024 PROD PROD 00007). Its objective is the development of a new drug for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme, one of the most aggressive human cancers in adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second project has received a \u201cLlavor\u201d grant of 25,000 euros (2024 LLAV 0021). The groups of Prof. <strong>Santiago V\u00e1zquez and Carles Galdeano<\/strong> aim to reach proof of concept of efficacy of a new <strong>PROTAC developed by EDDU<\/strong> researchers for targeting the MPro protein of coronaviruses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are very thankful for this support and willing to continue developing our projects aiming to find new treatments for some important and urgent medical needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EDDU has received two grants from the last call of the \u201cInd\u00fastria del Coneixement\u201d program from the \u201cDepartament de Recerca i Universitats de la Generalitat de Catalunya\u201d which follows the objective to facilitate the transfer of research results.
