C\u00e1lculos de DFT restringidos magn\u00e9ticamente a diferentes orientaciones magn\u00e9ticas a escala at\u00f3mica se utilizan para describir excitaciones t\u00e9rmicas. El sistema magn\u00e9tico est\u00e1 totalmente ordenado en el cero absoluto (a), en tanto que se desordena a medida que la temperatura aumenta (b,c).<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=\u00bb4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb][et_pb_column type=\u00bb4_4&#8243; _builder_version=\u00bb4.20.4&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb][et_pb_text module_class=\u00bblletra_gran\u00bb _builder_version=\u00bb4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p class=\"fletxa_anterior\" style=\"text-align: left;\">La teor\u00eda funcional de la densidad (density functional theory, DFT) es actualmente una de las principales herramientas para la modelizaci\u00f3n de materiales desde primeros principios. Sin embargo, la versi\u00f3n est\u00e1ndar de DFT normalmente no incluye efectos de temperatura y, por tanto, encuentra dificultades a la hora de describir la termodin\u00e1mica de los efectos (multi-)cal\u00f3ricos. <strong>En este proyecto utilizamos la teor\u00eda del momento local desordenado (DLM), uno de los pocos marcos te\u00f3ricos existentes que expande DFT para modelar materiales magn\u00e9ticos a temperatura finita desde primeros principios [1,2,3].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"fletxa_anterior\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Las propiedades magn\u00e9ticas de un s\u00f3lido son dictaminadas por las interacciones magn\u00e9ticas entre los \u00e1tomos, las cuales dependen de sus posiciones y distancias dando lugar a fuertes acoplamientos del magnetismo con la estructura cristalina del material. Por esta raz\u00f3n, las vibraciones de los \u00e1tomos causadas por excitaciones t\u00e9rmicas, es decir, los fonones, tambi\u00e9n pueden afectar al magnetismo y a consecuentes efectos cal\u00f3ricos. Sin embargo, la versi\u00f3n actual de nuestra herramienta computacional no incorpora esta interacci\u00f3n. <strong>Un objetivo principal del proyecto MULTICALORICS es el desarrollo de un nuevo m\u00e9todo para calcular el effecto de los phonones en el magnetismo i la refrigeraci\u00f3n cal\u00f2rica.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"fletxa_anterior\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Investigaciones previas a este proyecto han demostrado un potencial acoplamiento de los phonones con el magnetismo en los materiales Mn3AN, donde \u00abA\u00bb puede ser una combinaci\u00f3n de metales de transici\u00f3n y elementos semiconductores. Mn3AN es una famosa clase de materiales magn\u00e9ticos gracias a sus efectos cal\u00f3ricos gigantescos y su posible manipulaci\u00f3n mediante dopaje qu\u00edmico [4,5]. <strong>En el proyecto MULTICALORICS tenemos la ambici\u00f3n de predecir las mejores condiciones multical\u00f3ricas en estos materiales para su posterior an\u00e1lisis experimental en el grupo de materiales funcionales y transiciones de fase de la UB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>[1] B.
