Basic data:

My main research field is the functional ecology of shrubs in cold ecosystems. I am particularly interested in the study of the effects of global change on plants and shrub communities in the tundra, as well as in the study of the interaction between coexisting plant species.

After completing my PhD thesis within the group GeoVeg on the effects of climate change on the growth and functioning of shrubs at alpine mountains, I carried out two postdocs at the University of Greifswald, Germany, and one postdoc at CREAF. During the postdoctoral period I focused on the interaction between mosses and shrubs at the Arctic tundra and their responses to climate change, the study of intraindividual trait variability of tundra shrubs, and the effects of shrub encroachment on the properties and functioning of alpine soils. I have also used annual rings and quantitative wood anatomy to understand the response of shrubs to biotic and abiotic changes they face.
