AGAINST THE EVICTION OF THE B9 SETTLEMENT IN BADALONA

We, members of the Reciprocity Studies Group (GER – Grup d’Estudis sobre Reciprocitat) of the University of Barcelona (UB), express, in a personal capacity, our concern and rejection of the eviction of migrant people from the B9 settlement in Badalona that occurred on December 17, 2025.

This action leaves hundreds of people without homes and jobs. Many of them worked collecting scrap metal and had found a workplace and a place to live in the warehouse. The eviction prevents them from earning a living on a daily basis.

As social science researchers, we denounce the lack of policies offering alternatives to this vulnerable group of people and call upon the authorities to implement measures that guarantee their basic human rights. The eviction from warehouse B9 in Badalona only exacerbates the social exclusion of this group.
