GIM’s researchers involved in a project to assess the viability of drone corridors for both logistics and healthcare operations

Germà Bel and Xavier Fageda are part of an international consortium led by Aeroports de Catalunya (Niu.link) whose main goal is to assess the viability of drone corridors for both logistics and healthcare operations. The expected results are: 1) Creation of use cases and testing of cross-border drone corridors from experimental vertiports; 2) Committed to making tangible improvements in the lives of people and communities living in cross-border areas.

The total cost and ERDF amount of the project is €1.9M. The Niu.link project has been 65% co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-France Programme (POCTEFA 2021-2027). The objective of POCTEFA is to strengthen the economic and social integration of the Spain-France border area.
