Natalia Judith Laso is a Serra Húnter Fellow in English Linguistics at the University of Barcelona and a member of the Lexicology and Corpus Linguistics Research Group (GRELIC). Her research focuses on two main areas: English for Research Publication Purposes (ERPP) and the use of corpora in the linguistics classroom. 

She currently participates in the research project Hacia un MCERL/VC más accesible: ajuste de los descriptores con resultados basados en corpus de aprendices (PID2020-117041GA-I00), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and contributes to the compilation of the FineDesc learner corpus in collaboration with several Spanish universities. She has published extensively on biomedical discourse analysis, learner corpus research (in collaboration with the VESPA group), and ERPP. She is also co-editor of the volume Biomedical English: A Corpus-Based Approach (John Benjamins). 

In the area of teaching innovation, she is the Principal Investigator of the GIDC-Grup d’Innovació Docent Consolidat Gramàtica i Lingüística Anglesa (GIDC-GraLiAn, GINDOC-UB/034). Since 2009, she has coordinated multiple projects centred on three core areas: applying textual corpora as methodological tools for developing teaching materials, integrating data-driven learning practices into linguistics courses, and enhancing students’ analytical skills through evidence-based language learning. 

Montserrat Forcadell Guinjoan holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics (Universitat Pompeu Fabra-UPF, Barcelona) and an MA in Theoretical Linguistics (University of Reading, England). Her BA is in English and German Philology (Universitat de Barcelona-UB). 

She is currently a full-time lecturer at Universitat de Barcelona. She is currently interested in how to tackle marked structures which are contrastive in English and Catalan in a university teaching context so that students might have a better understanding and command of the strategies at play in the expression of informational issues.

Her main academic fields of interest are: Pragmatics (information packaging), Prosody (intonation patterns/sentence accent), and Applied Linguistics (contrastive English/Catalan marked structures). 

Júlia Barón is a Serra Húnter Fellow in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and English Studies at the University of Barcelona (UB). 

She’s currently the coordinator of the Applied Linguistics research strand of the Ph.D. Programs Linguistic, Literary and Cultural Studies and Cognitive Science and Language (UB). 

Her main research interests lie within the learning and teaching pragmatics in EFL contexts, Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT), and early language acquisition. She’s also the president of the International Association of Teaching Pragmatics (ITAP) whose aim is to bring together research and teaching practices together within the field of pragmatics. 

Maria-Luz Celaya is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor and accredited Full Professor) in Applied Linguistics in the Modern Languages and Literatures and English Studies Department at the University of Barcelona. Her research encompasses several key areas, including cross-linguistic influence, interlanguage pragmatics, the integration of the first language (L1) within foreign language pedagogy, and the acquisition of second languages by senior learners.  

She has been a full member of the GRAL research team since its inception thirty years ago. Additionally, she has served as the coordinator for both the PhD programme and the Master's programme in "Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts" at the University of Barcelona. Moreover, she is the founder and co-chair of the International Association for Teaching Pragmatics (ITAP) and was part of the executive board of the Spanish Association of Anglo-American Studies (AEDEAN). She has (co-) authored three books and several book chapters and articles published in key journals in the field of SLA, and has presented her papers at both national and international conferences. She has supervised fifty end-of-degree papers, more than forty MA theses and nine Ph.D. dissertations.  

She has coordinated and is still a member of the teaching innovation group GIDAdEnA (Acquisition and Teaching of English) and is also a member of the GIDC_GraLiAn teaching innovation group, which has led her to publish a number of papers and several presentations at conferences in the field.
