Research Group in Analytic Philosophy<\/mark><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

LOGOS is an international group of researchers who work on core issues in a variety of philosophical areas, using a distinctively analytic approach. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Their research can broadly be classified into four main areas: language and logic; metaphysics and mind; knowledge, science and methodology; and issues in practical and applied philosophy. <\/h2>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

LOGOS was founded in 1993 and has been officially recognized as a consolidated research group by the Generalitat de Catalunya since 1997. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The latest such recognition was received for the cycle 2022-2025 with grant identifier 2021-SGR-00276.<\/h2>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
\n\n

LOGOS is a founding member of the Barcelona Institute of Analytic Philosophy (BIAP)<\/a> which was recognized as a Mar\u00eda Maeztu Unit of Excellence in 2023 by Spain\u2019s Agencia Estatal de Investigaci\u00f3n<\/em> and received major funding. BIAP also includes the Law and Philosophy group<\/a> at Pompeu Fabra University and the Legal Philosophy group<\/a> at the University of Girona.<\/h2>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

LOGOS actively participates in the philosophy branch of the Master and PhD programme in Language and Cognitive Science (CCiL)<\/a> and the Master programme in Analytic Philosophy (APhil)<\/a>.
Both programmes are currently coordinated by LOGOS members.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

\n\n

LOGOS members frequently support applications for pre- and postdoctoral fellowships offered by funding bodies such as the Spanish Ministry or the Catalan government\u2019s research agency AGAUR. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once calls are published, the group encourages candidates to express their interest, especially women and members of other underrepresented groups.<\/h2>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

LOGOS is committed to creating and maintaining a vibrant research environment that is both friendly and fair. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

In 2024 LOGOS adopted its own Fairness and Equality Guidelines<\/em> that include recommendations of measures to promote gender fairness and equality within the group.  <\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
