Current
Research

The Sevilla lab uses stem cells, mainly patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), to decipher the regulatory mechanisms that govern pluripotency and neuronal development. As molecular tools, we also use CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing techniques to further understand specific pathologies.

Our lab derives brain organoids to investigate pathological mechanisms where neuroinflamation plays a key role. The primary focus of our lab is to examine the underlying molecular mechanisms that drive neuronal development to better understand neuroinflamatory mechanisms.
