Dr. Lluís Fernández Pons

Lluís Fernández Pons is a visual artist. He received his PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (UB). He has a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts (UB); and continued his studies in Germany with the degrees of Absolvent, Meisterschüler and later completed an MA in Art in Context at the UdK Berlin (Universität der Künste). He works as a visual artist collective with Jasmina Llobet since 2002, in the field of sculpture, public art and context-specific projects (www.llobetpons.com). Adjunct Professor at the Fine Arts Faculty of the UB. Guest Professor at Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan (2019). As part of the Llobet & Pons collective, he has realised projects in public space, including permanent sculptures in China, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. His work has been exhibited in international venues such as Bundeskunsthalle, NGBK, Studio 1-Bethanien, Fundación Tàpies, Setouchi Triennale or the Havana Biennial. Research Grants include Barcelona Awards 2020 Scholarship, Culture Institute of Barcelona City Council (2021). He has also participated on research stays and international residency programmes at Tsung-Yeh Arts and Cultural Center. Tainan, Taiwan (2018); Asia Culture Center (ACC).
