For two years, within the framework of La Virreina Image Center, research has been carried out. Truths are no longer temples, they are audience shares, which examines the relationship between proximity facilities and the cultural imaginary of Barcelona in the neoliberal era. The work investigates the programming and operation of civic centers as public institutions that help to build the paradigm of the so-called \"Barcelona brand\", based on consumption and cultural spectacularization.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the Virreina Lab, we invite the IMARTE, Research, Art, Science and Technology Research Groups of the University of Barcelona, \u200b\u200band the DARTS of the Open University of Catalonia, to rethink about the only and current indicator of social return in the culture of public administration: the number of attendees.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the debate is to question the indicator that conditions the programs and proposals of the centers, forcing public institutions to take more account of the volume of users driven by the technical trends, rather than the usefulness of the facilities as spaces for entities that develop relationships between politics, neighborhood needs and citizenship.<\/p>\n
