A study published in the Nature Communications journal anticipates that spin-crossover (SCO) compounds are excellent candidates for elastocaloric-based cooling technologies, being a a good alternative to replace current cooling systems that use harmful fluids. This work has been led by Materials: Phase transitions group in collaboration with the Ankara University and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
