MOLECULAR MAGNETISM
- This research line focuses on the following areas of synthesis: (a) new molecule-based magnets; (b) new single-molecule magnets; (c) new polynuclear complexes of high nuclearity; (d) new polynuclear complexes as bioinorganic models. For (b) and (c) above, new ligands synthesized both in the group or in collaboration with other groups will be used. The techniques employed for their characterization will be the following: elementary analysis, IR spectroscopy, X-ray and synchrotron diffraction, dc and ac magnetic susceptibility measurements, low temperature magnetization, and variable temperature electron paramagnetic resonance.
