"Women and Genome" Simposium

Within the framework of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11th) and the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first draft of the human genome (25APGH), this aims to be a day for outreach, reflection, and recognition of the fundamental role of women in genomic research and in the understanding of our biological diversity.


Summary of activities
The event will take place in the Sala de Graus, at the Durfort Building, of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona. Admission is free.

10.00 - Welcome and presentation by Dra. Sara Guirao.
10.15 - Dra. Gemma Marfany: "Humans 2.0: edició genètica en humans" (Humans 2.0: genetic edition in humans).
10.45 - Dra. Marta Riutort: "De Juràssic Park a la realitat" (From Jurassic Park to reality).
11.15 - Dra. Roser Corominas: "Modelant malalties del cervell" (Modeling brain diseases).
11.45 - Dra. Marta Álvarez: "Els habitants microscòpics del planeta" (The microscopic inhabitants of the planet).
