The Carche rock shelter, also known locally as the Candil spring or Poveda rock shelter, in reference to its discoverer, is located beside the Murell torrent, at its confluence with the Agrio ravine. This is an excellent location as it is at a strategic point dominating the confluence of the two ravines, with the Candil and Carche springs at its base.<\/p>\n

The shelter opens up to the southeast and is 7.29 m wide x 4.43 m maximum height. The site has a total of 12 preserved figures of the Levantine and Schematic artistic styles, including several Levantine deer, various human figures and an anchor-shaped motif. Also noteworthy is the presence of a horse, rare in Levantine art.<\/p>\n
