Solutions in the field of good governance and regulation

Research and innovation in regulatory improvement

The Good Governance and Regulation Living Lab is a field of experimentation that allows to collectively devise, build, test and evaluate the challenges that regulation and good governance pose in contemporary contexts (whistleblower protection, soft law, conflict of interest, evaluation of regulations, etc.).

This Living Lab will result in a periodical publication entitled Anuario del Buen Gobierno y de la Calidad de la Regulación (Good Governance and Regulatory Quality Yearbook), which will be published thanks to the collaboration of the Federación Democracia y Gobierno Local (Foundation of Democracy and Local Government). Efforts are also being made to carry out an experiment with all the potential social agents in a real environment to find solutions to day-to-day problems in the field of good governance and regulation.

UB researchers from various disciplines collaborate in the project, as well as researchers from the Rey Juan Carlos University, the University of Valencia, the University of Murcia, the Open University of Catalonia, the Carlos III University of Madrid, and the University of Santiago de Compostela. Other participants include professionals linked to public administration organizations such as the National Commission for Markets and Competition, the Office of Regulatory Quality of the Community of Madrid,  the Catalan Competition Authority, and the Area of Regulatory Improvement and Competition and Regulation of the Generalitat of Catalonia, among others.
