Chocolate and healthy brain

In the framework of the 16th Science Festival in Barcelona, Dr. Mercè Pallàs has participated in a workshop on the beneficial effects of chocolate on the human brain. From its antidepressant action, through the enhancement of the action of serotonin, its effect on mood, to its enhancing action of dopamine and endorphins in the amygdala. He has also referred to the anti-aging action of chocolate that is related to the presence of flavonoids into cacao powder that could protect the brain from oxidative stress.
