The IBUB-OBD Early Career Day, organized by Institute of Biomedicine of the University of Barcelona with the Bioethics and Law Observatory, was held on May 22, 2026, at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona. The event gathered 180 attendees and offered early-career researchers an opportunity to present their work and connect with the IBUB community.
The event featured strong participation from the MCP group. From Dr Santiago Vázquez’s group, Alba López delivered an oral communication. Fernando Romero, from Dr Carmen Escolano’s group, also delivered an oral communication and Joel Muixi presented a poster. From Dr Rodolfo Lavilla’s group, Fabio Alcántara delivered a flash talk and Camilla Pavan presented a poster. From Dr Andreea Larisa Turcu, Maria Sofia Medina presented a poster. From Dr Sandra Codony, Giorgio Emmola presented a poster. From Dr Ouldouz Ghashghaei, Margalida Cabrer was awarded Best Flash Talk of the congress. Finally, from Dr Diego Muñoz-Torrero’s group, Baoyi Fu, Daniel Jireth Castellanos and Leonardo Furore presented a poster, Marc Granjé derivered a flash talk and Ana Buj was awarded Best Flash Talk of the congress.
The event was highly successful, showcasing the enthusiasm and outstanding talent of IBUB’s young researchers.
